March 21, WTBBC Weigh-In Update

For the first time in our history, we are discouraging a large crowd at our weigh-in. Due to current circumstances, the CDC and the City of San Angelo have recommended that people avoid gatherings of 50 or more. To remain below this threshold and carry on with the contest, we have made the following changes to our weigh-in:
1. Drive-thru Weigh-in Process (See attached map)
Teams will enter through the East Gate. One team member will exit the vehicle to bring in their bobcat. We will verify at your vehicle if the bobcat is qualified (5 fox or 5 coyotes). If your bobcat is in the top 5, we will ask you to wait in your vehicle in the waiting area. As the top 5 places emerge, and your team is eliminated from the top 5, your team is excused and can leave the facilities through the West gate. The final top 5 places will remain for polygraph and payment. Please exercise common sense. If you know your bobcat doesn’t have a chance to be in the top 5, or if you don’t have enough animals to qualify your bobcat, there is no reason to come to weigh-in.
2. Jackpots
If your team is a jackpot contender (most cats, most coyotes, most fox), please follow the same path as the bobcat weights. We will notify you if your count has been beaten, and you will be free to leave the facilities. Winners will remain for polygraph and payment.
3. Door Prize Drawing
The Door Prize drawing will be held online at a later date. We will compile a list of contestants for an online drawing on Facebook for the prizes we have received. We will mail the prizes to the winners. The drawing will be announced on our Facebook page and website beforehand.

Teams can still mail in their entry forms with their team’s entry fee, but be sure they get to us BY THURSDAY before the contest. (Money Order or Cashiers Check ONLY. No personal checks, please.) Of course, you can also stop by Field and Streams, The Outdoorsman, or Texas Gun Shop in San Angelo, Texas any time between now and 12:00 PM on the Saturday of the contest. The entry fee is due when you turn in your entry form. There are NO REFUNDS.

Online registration will stay open until the contest starts at 12:00 PM, Saturday, March 21st. It will then be turned off automatically, and no more entries will be taken.

Remember, if you need to make changes to your team members after you’ve turned in your entry form, it MUST be done via email so that we have a record of it. The January 25, 2020 West Texas Big Bobcat Contest is right around the corner.  In fact. Online registration is now open for anyone wanting to enter the January contest.  Teams can still mail in their entry forms with the entry fee, but please be sure to get them to us before the contest starts.  (Money order or Cashiers Check ONLY.  No personal checks, please.)  Of course, you can also stop by Field and Streams , The Outdoorsman or Texas Gun Shop any time between now and noon on the Saturday of the contest. The cash entry fee is due when you turn in your entry form.  Please remember there are NO REFUNDS.
Online registration will stay open until the contest starts at 12:00 PM, Saturday, January 25th. It will be turned off automatically at that time, and no more entries will be taken. Don’t wait until the last minute if you are going to register online in case you run into technical issues.

March 2019 Results

Congratulations to all of the winning teams in the March 2019 WTBBC. We had another great turnout this month with 611 teams entered. We weighed 26 qualified cats and paid out $122,200 in prize money.

2019 was a great year for the WTBBC. For the 3 contests combined, we had a total of 1967 teams entered, paid out $393,400 in prize money, gave away some pretty awesome prizes from our sponsors, and we had a heck of a good time doing it. That brings our all time total payout (since 2008) to $2,039,120. We think that’s pretty unbelievable, and we know that it could not happen without all the hunters who support the contest and enjoy a little competitive predator hunting.

March 2018 Results

Congratulations to all of the winning teams in the March 2018 WTBBC. We had another great turnout this month with 605 teams entered.  We weighed 38 qualified cats and paid out $121,000 in prize money.

2018 was a great year for the WTBBC.  For the 3 contests combined, we had a total of 1994 teams entered, paid out $398,800 in prize money, gave away some pretty awesome prizes from our sponsors, and we had a heck of a good time doing it. That brings our all time total payout (since 2008) to $1,645,720. We think that’s pretty unbelievable, and we know that it could not happen without all the hunters who support the contest and enjoy a little competitive varmint hunting.
